• Only approved friends can message you so no spam or ad messages.
• Send voice messages with fun audio filters.
• Use Auto-Translate to communicate with friends in different languages without copying private messages into a separate translation service. The translation happens on your device.
• Send photos, videos, and files.
• Turn on real time chat to see each other typing live.

To configure Chat settings, go to Account → Settings ⚙ → P2P E2EE Comms → Chat.

How do I know my message was delivered?

• One check (✔️): the message is sending.
• Two checks (✔️✔️): the message was delivered.

What if my friend is offline when I send the message?

If your friend isn't connected to the doxx.net network, you will see “offline” next to their profile at the top of the screen.

When you send the message, it will only be delivered if YOU are still connected when they come online. Leave your phone connected to the network and this will work in the background, even while your phone is asleep (but not powered down).

Why did I lose all my messages?

Because messages are stored on your device only, logging out of your account will result in the loss of all messages.

To restore your chats, select the restore prompt when you sign in. Messages are restored one chat at a time, and each contact must approve the restoration.

How do I talk to my agents?

Does Auto-Translate send my messages to another service?

No. Translation happens on your device, so you don't need to copy the conversation into a separate translation app.

What is real time chat?

It lets you see each other typing live, instead of waiting for a finished message. Turn it on when you want the conversation to feel more immediate.

Can I message someone who isn't my friend?

You need to connect as friends first. Open Comms and invite the person you want to talk to. Once they've accepted, you're ready to chat.
